How is it February already?
A lot has happened since my last post – mainly because it has been over a month since I wrote anything…
January whizzed by in a whirlwind of vomiting bugs, failed bottle feeds and the beginnings of a messy phase of playing with squished-up solid food without actually eating it. Yes, Marley continues to grow and develop – at least in some ways – at an unbelievable rate.
On the move
He is constantly on the move as you can see (First Class, of course) and although not yet crawling, he’s absolutely never sitting still.
He’s clutching things and eyeballing them and sticking them in his mouth. He’s scratching and slapping, and shrieking louder than ever. The only step in his development that doesn’t seem to have changed quite so dramatically since my last post is the full transition from the breast to the spoon.
He’s even figured out how to FaceTime.
But despite the two teeth that now sit proudly on his bottom gum – which he grinds against the occasional rusk biscuit or Babybel cheese – he’s still not quite figured out what to do next. If he’s anything like me, I’m sure he will get his appetite sooner or later.
We did have a bit of a breakthrough with the bottle today. I was able to feed him about 3oz of milk. I had to Google how much an ounce was, and it turns out it’s about 28ml. Or about the same as a shot (Is it bad to measure my baby’s milk in “shots”?)
Anyway, even more exciting than his progress towards bottle feeding and eating solid foods, is his imminent return to the swimming pool.
As you can see, Marley is already looking forward to it…

Poor little mite. Auntie Patricia knows how he feels!
